The University Management has adopted and ratified the following policies, which come into operation from the 1st of November 2012. The policies are legally-binding and remain valid until reviewed or amended. The policies are copyright-protected. The policy thrust deals with intellectual property rights (patents, copyrights and technology transfer), collaboration with institutions, organisations and external individuals. In addition, it highlights conditions for shared patent, copyrights and commercialised products.

CUCRID Seed Grant Funding
The Covenant Seed grants is a small amount grant for research projects and early stage development exercises. The fund is offered to promote research ideas, concepts and products as well as to advance individual and research clusters/teams’ efforts and/or to obtain preliminary data, develop model/prototypes and to demonstrate the potential viability of the work. The annual Seed-granting funding applications run from December 4th, 2023 to January 15th, 2024, with successful applicants announced at the end of March 2024.
Who is Eligible?
To be eligible for the grant, applicants must be either a faculty/staff member of any of the approved clusters of the university under CUCRID or a duly registered postgraduate student with an appointed mentor/supervisor. However, applications can only be submitted through the mentor/supervisor.
All applications, regardless of the category above, are expected to have a postgraduate investigator, either current or prospective. Where the student is currently enrolled, the student must meet the conditions in (b) above, and where prospective, the faculty/staff applicant must advertise the position in the succeeding admission process of the School of Postgraduate Studies to ensure an appropriate postgraduate student placement. If a student is not found for the seed-grant offered, one academic session after the offer, the faculty/staff applicant must inform the CUCRID office of the situation for further action

- Clear research question/Gap(s) with tangible SDG targets

- Non-Incremental Budget
